![]() ![]() The lightning connector holds the cable, so it doesn't fall out on it's own, but I am able to shake whatever cable is plugged in to the left and right, which makes my phone think I unplugged the current accessory, whether it be my earphones or my charger. I was about to buy a new pair of earphones but I actually narrowed the problem down to my earphones not being faulty (maybe a bit), but instead it is the lightning connector that doesn't hold the plugged in accessories properly. Loose lightning connector? Lately I have noticed that when using the earphones that came with my phone my music randomly stops, skips songs, Siri constantly interrupts, and my phone thinks I unplugged the earphones which requires me re-plugging it. Perhaps I can go for bluetooth, but what about charging! Sometimes when there in no charge at all I am not sure if the cable is connected properly or not. I will check with apple to see if they do repair it or recommend to buy a new iPhone, Perhaps that mechanical part inside the socket lose their grip over the time. There are two small cavity/notches at the sides of the connector that within the iPhone it is supposed to sort of latch into it and keeps it secure. I beliebe I have found one of the reasons. So practically I cannot use earphone while moving, after seconds it disconnect. I have cleaned and it may help for a day, probably, or minutes although it is near to impossible to clean where the socket part inside the iPhone. It has become very annoying since practically cable/connector does not connect properly.Įarphone, the charger cable does not matter which one. I do not believe that is the answer and I could not reply( message sent in Jan 2020) Originally published, June 2014.I searched the discussion group and found someone asked the same question and the answer was “use another earphone or clean the cable.”
